Glen Hanson resides in Marfa, Texas. He used to wake up early in the mornings and start beading - a contemplative act. Unfortunately, his eyesight no longer allows him to create this work
Glen used the Lakota tribe method of beading. He would put seven beads on a thread and then affixed those to the leather. This has been referred to as the "lazy stitch." It is by no means lazy, as some of Glen's pieces have more than 20,000 beads.
Glen was born in Wisconsin and lived in Minnesota for many years. He was one of the major art dealers of the midwest before he retired from the business.
Now, he serves as a docent at Chinati and enjoys life in Marfa.
