Untitled, Schellmann #102, 1977-78
Etchings from a series of 16 images / 29.5" x 34.25", Ed of 75 (intended, never completed) / Sold.
Note: The box changes perspective as the viewer walks around the print. The front rectangular plane maintains 90 degree angles only when the viewer is directly in front of the piece. Judd beautifully adds changing perspective to these two dimensional prints.
Detail
The detail shows two things: 1) Judd uses two lines where there would usually only be one in a regular drawing. 2) The two lines from the front to the back are actually parallel, but they appear otherwise. Judd show the viewer that these prints had perspective.
Installation photograph
This prints are most interesting in multiples because they reflect Judd's installations of various forms at one time.
