The gallery has added a few new works by various artists on the Misc. page. These include Richard Serra, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Idris Kahn and others. Please take a look and feel free to contact the gallery.
i / j welcomes the Contemporary Art Society of London
The gallery is pleased to host members and the Director of the Contemporary Art Society of London. This organization buys contemporary art for public museums and galleries in the U.K. Based upon past donations, I see very little minimalism, so perhaps we can entice them with some exceptional work from Marfa.
Vissers in Marfa
Cecilia Vissers is currently showing at inde/jacobs in Marfa. She is visiting and enjoying the exploration of various Judd spaces and the Chinati Foundation.
Vissers' artwork relates to the minimalism, but references the cuts and the mass of landscape. She especially enjoys the rough terrain of Ireland.
VISSERS / TABATABAI Exhibit - 10/9/16-1/9/16
Opening: 10/9/15 - 6:30-8:30
An exceptional exhibit of anodized aluminum sculpture by Cecilia Vissers of the Netherlands and thread paintings and acrylic paintings by Hadi Tabatabai of San Francisco (born in Iran).
The work displays the perfect craftsmanship generally associated with many minimalist artists.
The exhibit is supported as part of the Dutch Culture USA program by the Consulate General of the Netherlands in New York and a grant from the Netherland-America Foundation.

i n d e / j a c o b s in August issue of Interior Design
We are pleased to be included in the August 2015 issue of Interior Design. So, all of you folks in town for Design Marfa, come by to see the great architecture by Claesson Koivisto Rune.
Come visit during Design Marfa
Design Marfa seems to have missed the opening of a new gallery in Marfa designed by the internationally recognized architects Claesson Koivisto Rune of Stockholm and have not sought to include it in their programming for their upcoming weekend. But we will be here and open to the public!
The gallery opened in May, 2015 to great acclaim in Marfa and in the design media. The project has been included in Dezeen, Interior Design (August 2015) and other publications. The architects were given great latitude to create as they wished. Thus, although the project took nine years to complete, it is the same concept that was first shown to gallery owners Vilis Inde & Tome Jacobs.
Forced perspective, hanging cubes, etc. a beautiful space - Claesson Koivisto Rune's first project on American soil. It will not be the last.
Come visit!
Jarrod Beck's Disruption Regime enhanced
Jarrod Beck was in Terlingua and stopped in Marfa to continue work on his installation piece on 5 acres of arid dessert land. The artwork above (a series of four pieces) includes two pristine pieces and two pieces that have been part of the outdoor installation for four years. Please take a look at the website for more detail and additional photographs.
Judd Drawing from circa 1963
Judd graphite drawing from circa 1963. It relates to an untitled piece of sculpture from 1963 that had been exhibited at the Whitney and in Ontario. A representative piece is on display at the Judd Block in Marfa.
The interesting thing to note is that Judd used the shape of the vertical form in many of his early prints, both woodcuts and aquatints.
Judd Woodcut, 1993
New inventory - Judd woodcut from 1993 (Schellmann 297). The print is 23.5" x 31.5" and is an edition of 150. This was Judd's last single print with only one series of four prints done later - prior to his death in 1994.
inde/jacobs at ICFF NY
Claesson Koivisto Rune presented the inde/jacobs gallery at ICFF in NYC during the weekend of May 16th. It was a great success and the gallery exhibited artwork by Vissers, Tabatabai and Magee - to provide a bit of flavor of the gallery. The booth was chosen as one of the highlights of the fair by Wallpaper and others. Now - back to the business of running the gallery.
Opening Celebration - May 9th 5:00-8:00
Jeff Koons - Celebration Series Pink Bow (2013) will greet the guests at the opening. Although Koons' work does not generally fit the aesthetic of the gallery, we thought that it would add to the festive atmosphere of the Opening Celebration. Both the print and the gallery represent the shiny and the new.
Tom and I hope to see you at the opening celebration.
May 9th Opening Celebration
The Opening celebration with architects CLAESSON KOIVISTO RUNE present is scheduled for May 9th 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. The architects will have a brief presentation at 5:30.
We are excited and all are welcome. Come see the new space. The opening exhibit features all of the gallery artists.
Thanks, Tom & Vilis
Matt Magee & Pard Morrison - inde/jacobs
i n d e / j a c o b s now represents both Matt Magee and Pard Morrison. Both present unique visions that fit with the gallery's interest in minimalist and reductive art. Welcome!
Gallery Photographed for a Book
Ake E:son Lindman photographed the gallery and residence for a book that will be published in May in conjunction with the Opening Celebration. He has done an amazing job and the draft book is quite impressive. The star of the photographs is our dog Kriksis who seemed to be ready to pose at any moment. We look forward to seeing the final book - about 100 pages. The photographs will also be shared with magazines, etc. We may be on the map for those interested in architecture.

Exterior at sunrise.
Landscaping begins and work on the final details - shelves, bookcases, finish work. It is exciting to see it come together. A dream for many years becomes a reality. A glorious space to exhibit excellent artwork.

New Year's Greeting
December 26 - doors open
Getting close to the finish line. Unfortunately, seventy panels of perforated aluminum have yet to arrive to the "construction site" - delay and more delay. Therefore, the exterior courtyard looks barren. Landscaping will be done only after all of the work is done.
But, we open the doors as planned. Art is up! a fantastic exhibition of the gallery artists. Come by December 26 - January 3 from 12 - 5. See the space and the art.
The opening celebration will occur on May 9th when CLAESSON KOIVISTO RUNE, the architects from Stockholm will be present.
All the BEST in 2015 !!!
