Glen Hanson resides in Marfa, Texas. He wakes up early in the mornings and starts to bead - a contemplative act.
Glen uses the Lakota tribe method of beading. He puts seven beads on a thread and then affixes those to the leather. This has been referred to as the "lazy stitch." It is by no means lazy, as some of Glen's pieces have more than 20,000 beads.
Glen was born in Wisconsin and lived in Minnesota for many years. He was one of the major art dealers of the midwest before he retired from the business.
Now, he beads, serves as a docent at Chinati and enjoys life in Marfa.
